Rebecca Fairman is one of Airbnb’s leaders in global architecture and interiors across hospitality, workplace, brand activations, and residential environments.
Her work includes Casa Airbnb for the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, Maison Airbnb for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, and the company’s offices in San Francisco, Singapore, Seoul, Paris, London, Tokyo, Beijing, Montreal, and Seattle. She’s also piloted Airbnb’s interior design services, created the highly conceptual and personalized Executive Team Dinners, set the design standards for product listing tiers, strategized the company's interior design education content series, and more. Through Airbnb.org, she has also designed spaces in support of refugee housing initiatives.

A licensed Architect and Interior Designer, Rebecca’s practice sits at the intersection of environmental psychology, neuroarchitecture, and experience design. For over fifteen years, she has explored how the spaces we inhabit shape wellbeing, behavior, relationships, and belonging. She sees design not simply as aesthetics, but as a powerful tool for shaping how people think, feel, connect, and thrive. Before Airbnb, she was Senior Hospitality Designer and Health & Wellness practice lead at Gensler.

Rebecca holds a Master’s in Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design from IUAV, Università Iuav di Venezia, and serves as Board President and Chief Design Officer of the nonprofit Flip4Good. She is currently developing Unlocking the Power of Space: Evidence-Based Design Tools for Connection, an original body of research resulting in a highly-creative and practical workshop series, workbook, and design philosophy, with the aim of making the science and power of design more accessible. She gives keynotes, lectures, and classes. •
